NEW PHREODRILIDAE (ANNELIDA: CliTELLATA) FROM TASMANIAN ESTUARIES
نویسندگان
چکیده
A new species of Phreodrilidae from Macquarie Harbour, Tasmania is described. Astacopsidrilus ostiensis sp. nov. is unique in possessing the combination of long, tightly folded atria, modified spermarhecal chaetae and ventral chaetae that are almost simple pointed. These are the first phreodrilids to be recorded from estuarine or intertidal habitats, other than two species collected from beaches, on Subantarctic Campbell Island, for which the habitat data are ambiguous. The existence of other Phreodrilidae from Tasmanian estuaries, of which we do not have sufficient material for description, is noted.

The systematic position of Opistocystidae (Annelida, Clitellata) revealed by DNA data.
Opistocystidae Cernosvitov, 1936 is a largely Neotropical oligochaete taxon containing seven species. Its familial status has never been formally challenged, although possible close relationships with Naididae and Phreodrilidae have been noted. Mitochondrial 12S and 16S rDNA, and nuclear 18S rDNA, of a range of aquatic oligochaete taxa, including Trieminentia corderoi (Opistocystidae), were ana...

The ocnerodrilids Eukerriasaltensis (Beddard, 1895) and Ocnerodrilusoccidentalis Eisen, 1878 are reported for the first time from outdoor localities above 42° N in Europe. The present new records comprise the first ever from England (River Thames, central London) and from France (River Golo, northern Corsica) and the northernmost occurrences in Italy (Liguria and Veneto). The new latitudinal li...

One new species of Naidinae (Oligochaeta, Naididae), Naisbadia sp. n. and one new record species from China, Tubifexmontanus Kowalewski, 1919 (Tubificinae) are found in southern Tibet. The new species is distinguished from congeners by its large area of reddish brown pigment in the anterior segments I-VIII, serrate hairs, pectinate needles with 1-2 intermediate teeth, ventral chaetae partly wit...

The information provided by examining complete mitochondrial genomes also enables investigation of other evolutionary events such as gene rearrangements, gene dupl...
